PTA letter blocking websites April 25, 06

Subject: -BLOCKING OF WEBSITES ACCESS

It has been observed that the following website providing misleading
informations.

www.balochvoice.com

www.baloch2000.org

www.balochfront.com

www.sanabaloch.com

www.hinduunity.com

You are, requested to block access of the above websites
immediately to your subscribers. Compliance report in this respect should reach to
the undersigned on April 26, 2006 positively.

The above proves that the Pakistan govt. is going far beyond just blocking blasphemous websites.

The 5 sites blocked:

http://www.balochvoice.com: Collection of news from around the world on Baluchistan. Seems straightforward enough. Practically all the info is from newspapers, bbc, etc. very extensive site.

http://www.baloch2000.org/. much smaller site than above.

http://www.balochfront.com: This seems to advocate a new country, with parts from Pakistan and Iran.

http://www.sanabaloch.com: No longer exists? Can’t get to it. Google Cache shows that this is the personal website of Sana Baluch, a baluchi political leader.

hindunity.com: Seems like a standard religious site. Nothing to write home about. Has cartoons and plenty of hate material.

pakistani gov’t has forever said that they mantain the block for religious purposes, ie blocking pornography and anti-Islam sites.
The blogspot ban, in effect, was made in order to block the religious cartoons.
The baloch ban, for as long as we see it, is for political gains..
